Above you will see an example of my painting done in oil paint on board, and taken from a Victorian black and white photograph. These phtographs seem 'too good' to simply leave in cupboards, or museum storerooms, or even only represented in their original B/W form, albeit lovely it is own right.
With this in mind I want to do work on a commission basis from 'your' images or from my own sourced images.
If for isntance, you have old family photo's maybe of grandparents or even some pre 20th century celeb (B/W).If you are interested I would like to see them and evaluate their potential
for making them into oil paintings.
Just think! you can have the 'family portrait' gallery just like the important people of the past did!
No more touched -up photo's with them looking like tanned athletes, but real flesh and blood people.
Beyond portraits, if you look at what is on this site, you will see I also paint many other things and in different styles, in fact anything pictorially interesting.
There is one condition, that being- the subject is on some way interesting and would make an interesting composition.
Even industrial wasteland can make wonderful pictures and aspects of rural life, 'occasions', for instance also.

and I can arrange with you to see the photo/s you have in mind. ( remember though that they should be pre 1930 at least much earlier if possible and no colour photos please. Recent ones might be considered 'non colour' if they are suitable for oil painted versions.
Apart from my fondness for the past and its images. I also do local scenes and did many of Cornwall where I lived for eighteen years. Now I live in Italy I am working on scenes from this region with a view to having 'one man' exhibitions here next year--- if the paintings are not sold before they get there that is!!!
Otherwise I am working on a commission basis doing local scenes and murals.
I will also undertake( with less enthusiasm) portraits from live subjects where viable.
All work will be carreid out and completed as soon as possible, the styles of paintings I partake in are illustrated on this site. Many are for sale, some are sold and some not available- or being made available as ( signed) limited edition prints.
